September 13, 2015, will be the official end of the Shemitah year, which occurs every seven years and what the Bible recounts is the year that the people were to forgive their debts and allow their land to rest. (See related article) Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, says unusual events often occur during these Shemitah years.
“Look at 2001. The Shemitah was the day after 9-11 – and everything collapsed the day after 9-11,” she shares. “Things have really never quite been the same [since then] simply because radical Islam has now become one of the major players on the globe. World history can be shaken by these seven-year cycles known as a Shemitah.”
